Airlink to launch direct Tete service

Effective August 2, Airlink will launch a twice-weekly service from Johannesburg to Tete, Mozambique.


The flights will depart Johannesburg on Mondays and Fridays at 11h05, arriving in Tete at 13h05. The return service will depart Tete at 13h45, arriving in Johannesburg at 15h50 on the same days.


Flights will be operated using a 37-seat Embraer 135 jet.


The airline has also announced the following enhancements to current services:


Airlink will increase capacity on its Johannesburg-Bulawayo route, also starting August 2. Flights will now be operated by a BAE 146 AVRO jet with 83 seats. Previously the route was operated by a 37-seat Embraer 135.


Also, in addition to its current Pietermaritzburg schedule, Airlink will introduce the 97-seat BAE 146-200 jet, effective July 19. It will depart Johannesburg from Monday to Friday and on Sundays at 18h35, arriving in Pietermaritzburg at 19h40. The return service will depart Pietermaritzburg at 06h45, arriving in Johannesburg 08h00 from Monday to Friday.
