Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company VALC takes delivery of its fourth of five ATR72-500 from ATR at Toulouse. Aircraft to be placed on lease to Vietnam Airlines, with delivery of fifth aircraft expected in December 2010. VALC also signed contracts to purchase ten A321-200s, which it will lease to Vietnam Airlines in 2012-2013.

Kenya Airways acquires additional B737-300 on lease from KLM (Netherlands) for regional operations.

NIKI (Austria) takes delivery of fifth E190, serial 19000387, direct from Embraer. Two more E190s to be delivered in 2011.

Kenya Airways to launch new services in winter 2010 season from Nairobi to Ouagadougou, N’Djamena, Pointe Noire, and Jeddah.

Aires (Colombia) to launch services from Bogota to Panama City and Lima in Novemeber 2010 with Q400s.

Arik Air (NG) passes IATA Operational Safety Audit, becoming second Nigerian carrier to be IOSA registered.

Afriqiyah Airways (Libya) to resume services between Tripoli and Beijing on October 31 with A330-200.

Russia offers India part in joint production venture of Russian-Ukrainian commercial aircraft, including AN148.

Austral Airlines (Argentina) takes delivery of third E190 of 20 on order from Embraer. Third and fouth to arrive in November 2010, with remaining 16 to arrive through 1H 2011.

Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry (China) says no decision made about possible cessation of operations, as company negotiating with China government and AVIC, its partner, about continuing operations.
